Candle Care

Proper maintenance of your soy candles is key to insuring the best possible burn and burn times. Candles should be burned for up to 4 hours at a time and trim the wick to 1/4" before burning. Once lit be sure to not extinguish the flame until the entire top layer of wax is melted, This creates a "melt pool" and allows the candle to burn evenly the whole way down.

Soy wax has it’s own charm and character. Candles made from soy wax naturally have a frosting throughout and often times, on the surface. Frosting on soy candles does not affect the performance of the candle. Another soy nuance is something the industry calls “wet spots” which appear between the glass and wax. These are also normal and will not affect the performance of the candle.

Here at Oak Street Candles, we do not use additives to prevent these natural characteristics. After each burning session you may notice a “ring” around the top of the candle. This is perfectly normal and does not, in any way, affect the candles performance.
